At the moment we are working hard finishing off our dreamtime wall stories that we started earlier in the year. Most of us have just about finished our story and are ready to print it A3 size. We will then use our artistic talents to create the illustrations. We will have these on display early next term.
Year 5 worked very hard with Mrs Taylor during their art time on creating some 3D shapes. It took great skill to master the shading so that each shape had depth. Check out next weeks photos for the finished products.
Congratulations to Jacobi for winning our Term 1 raffle. Each week we have minor winners who get to pick from the lucky dip box and once a term we have a major winner. Jacobi's prize included everything including the fish (which unfortunately
Many of our projects are coming together nicely. We have had some very successful cooking which is now being followed up with the creation of a recipe book for kids. Our drawing crew are producing some magnificent art for a wonderful display. Emily is using the you beaut loom bands to create some wonderful bracelets. We look forward to seeing what she comes up with at the end of term. Our bird feeders are taking shape and we look forward to welcoming birds to our playground. Roxy's skateboard has seen many design changes but is now taking shape and Bree's knitting is growing day by day. Her scarf will be finished just in time for th. Our car designers are certainly being challenged as they try to reuse a toy car for the chassis of their new design. Keep going boys. Keep touching base with us to see the many projects still to be featured.
Our cross country winners and representatives for district from 5/6T are: 11 years girls 2nd - Meg, 4th - Laila; 11 year boys - 3rd - Taj, 4th -Nicholas; 12 year girls 3rd - Annabelle, 4th - Lara. Congratulations to all our students for competing and going the distance.
5/6T have been creating these crazy face artworks during our art sessions. We used crayons to colour the faces and drew them using strange shapes that were inspired by cartoon expressions.
By Annabelle and Julia This year students in 5/6T are participating in the Premier's Reading Challenge. This challenge is for students who enjoy reading. We read as many books as we can for 5 months and we will receive a certificate at the end of the challenge. Go to the website for more information on how to participate and to record your books.
By Annabelle and Julia 5/6T has been doing Art class for sometime now and have made a lot of colourful creations but one of these was put into the school fete a few weeks ago and some of them were sold for a dollar and most of them were spectacular. There was many donations. By Kelly 5/6T and the rest of Stage 3 have been busy on Wednesday afternoons because we have been doing our projects we are passionate about. There are three rules to this hour of freedom. The first rule is it has to be approved by the teacher. Second rule, it has to have research as a part of it. And the third and final rule is you have to be learning.
